TIA hosted a charity screening of the much anticipated film ‘LION’ at the Trak Cinema in Burnside on 22 January. A screening of a short documentary about TIA and our life-changing work was shown before the main feature. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we raised almost $650 for our youth programs in Bolivia.
On December 2, our good friends at Positive Lending Solutions hosted a hugely successful Golf Day Fundraiser event supporting TIA’s workshop programs in Bolivia. Following 18 holes of golf, guests were treated to a presentation by previous AFL star and Footy Show panelist Doug Hawkins as well as nibbles, an auction and a raffle. Almost $9000 was raised. Mammoth thanks to Doug, the team at Positive Group and all involved in this phenomenal event!
VolunTIAs, committee members and supporters of TIA all gathered in sunny Mylor in October to enjoy TIA’s second ever Asado! The afternoon included a silent auction, raffle and of course a delicious Argentine-style BBQ lunch complemented by wines from The Lane Vineyard and Bird in Hand! We raised almost $7000 to go directly to our workshop programs for youth in Bolivia.
TIA’s most anticipated event of the year, the Annual Quiz Night, was held on Saturday, August 20 at the Goodwood Community Centre. Our Olímpico theme was chosen to celebrate diversity and because we believe everyone should have the chance to reach their full potential and make their dreams come true. It was a night of fun, games, trivia and raising a fanTIAstic $7300 for our youth-focused programs and workshops in Bolivia. THANK YOU to all involved with our very successful and enjoyable Annual Quiz Night.
2016 marks 7 years in the TIA journey. In April our VolunTIAs and TIA supporters came together in Adelaide to celebrate our anniversary and all our achievements with a fabulous cocktail party at the very cool Mama Jambo bar. It’s been a long and exciting journey so with some music, food, drinks and fun we wanted to say THANK YOU for all your support in empowering the youth of Bolivia to have bright and inspiring lives.
We recently launched TIA in Melbourne! It was a huge success with about 50 guests, raising over $3000 towards our TIA projects. A HUGE TIA thank you to Casa Iberica Deli that donated 120 homemade chorizos and empanadas that fed the crowd in true South American style! There was an auction and raffle and wonderful Bolivian musicians Acequia who also came together to make the day unforgettable.
